About Me

From fifty years, my job has been to tell compelling, socially important stories–first as a newsmagazine reporter and editor, then as a TV news executive, and now as an on-air correspondent and  author of narrative nonfiction books.

Since then, I’ve been writing books and contributing stories to CBS Sunday Morning. I also serve on the jury for the Peabody Awards and am an avid cook, golfer and jazz fan.
