I worked for 30 years at Newsweek, rising to become the magazine’s top editor. After that, I spent five years in television news, as Washington bureau chief for NBC and Managing Editor of CNN. Since then, I’ve been writing books and contributing stories to CBS Sunday Morning. I also serve on the jury for the Peabody Awards and am an avid cook, golfer and jazz fan.
